The infamous Westboro Baptist Church is planning on picketing at Whitney Houston's funeral.

The extremist, anti-gay church says that Houston should have used her voice to spread the word of God and that they plan on making that fact known on the day of the singer's funeral. The Digital Journal reports that the church claims that Houston used her talent to teach sin and is seen as an icon and role model for the LGBT community.

The Kansas-based Westboro Baptist Church, known for its radical demonstrations at the funerals of soldiers, celebrities, and homosexuals, has announced their plans to picket outside the funeral of music superstar Whitney Houston.

In a further attempt to express their disdain for Whitney's lifestyle choices, the Westboro Baptist Church released a parody of a Houston song, entitled "God, Will Always Hate You Whitney," in which they called the singing sensation a "druggie," further manipulating the words of the hit Houston song to share their twisted message.

Utterly reprehensible! Which god do these people follow? Has to be a sick, demented entity.

The extremist

I think we can stop pretending they are extremist since the majority of the republican party supports their positions.

Every one of you that posted that my post was a lie spend the rest of your time here on Newsvine posting about how homosexuals shouldn't have equal rights. The only difference between you and the WBC is that the WBC knows how to get media attention and you only wish you did. The WBC represents mainstream republicans.

Nobody said anything of the sort here, you lied because you posted this:

I think we can stop pretending they are extremist since the majority of the republican party supports their positions.

Now you @!$%#ing PROVE that the MAJORITY of the Republican Party supports the positions of WBC or admit you're doing nothing more then attacking without just cause.

If you don't like being called out for lying then don't post lies it's that simple. And yet here you go again with more DISGUSTING, BULL@!$%# BOLD FACED LIES:

      The WBC represents mainstream republicans

I call BULL@!$%# and openly challenge you to prove this BOLD FACED LIE with ANY hard evidence.

I have to agree. I don't think the overwhelming majority of the Republican Party support the positions of WBC. Nor do I think the majority of Democrats or Independents support WBC. The WBC is a radically extreme and irresponsibly-led anti-establishment cult. It is politically isolated and no one outside of their group supports them.

I don't honestly believe anyone in either political party would support those morons. WBC is certainly not a Christian Church, it's a cult at best. I dealt with them up close and personal and when it comes down to push come to shove, they back down fast.

There's a big difference between supporting them and supporting their position. Their position is that homosexuals should be treated like second class citizens, that is also the position that the republican party has taken. Get over it.

I am definitely not a Republican supporter ... not even close. Yes. Republicans do take a political stand regarding homosexuals. But this stand isn't as all encompassing as those of WBC. There are homosexual Republicans; the GOP doesn't protest at their funerals when they die. But the WBC will. And Republicans will not agree with such behavior. Nor do Republicans protest at the funeral of the military deceased. But WBC does. Republicans don't agree with these actions.

All of the Republicans that vote against President Obama will support the same position. Some of the those voting actually hate him because of the color of his skin and are card-carrying racists. Others will vote against him strictly based on a dislike for his policies. All will support the same position, but that doesn't mean that all Republicans are racists.

Just because Republicans and WBC may share the same position regarding homosexuals doesn't mean that Republicans support WBC.

The actions of Westboro Baptist Church are the prime reason many are turned off by those who would force their religious doctrine down the throats of others. The tactics used by the church are deplorable, and it is filled with delusional hypocrites who's beliefs are outlandish. They have absolutely no idea what God's plans are for Whitney Houston.

This is very true. Fortunately there hae been some groups of folks who have been able to block WBC without getting physical and thus sued. Hopefully this will also happen at Whitney Houston's funeral.

Anyone for roasting the members of this church in their church. Pick them off one by one. Take out the church disassemble the building. Turn it into a parking lot. Can these people not fill up a grave yard some where? Turn them into Eunuchs so they can not bred.

Beside that point. I wonder if the police will just arrest them for coming into the State to cause trouble.

Is this not the same group that use the Koran as TP?

Not that I would ever wish death on anyone, but I sure do know several thousand people who would take great joy out of picketing a funeral of one of their members!

And they'd be there in such forces, they'd have to call out the national guard!
